Restart a heart day 2017

North West Ambulance Service has launched an appeal to secondary schools in the region to sign up for a free lesson in life-saving.
Partnering with the Resuscitation Council UK, British Heart Foundation and St John Ambulance, all UK ambulance services will provide the country’s biggest ever CPR training event on Restart a Heart Day on 16 October 2017.

Restart a Heart Day will see NWAS and local partners providing practical lessons that cover how to recognise cardiac arrest, and how to help by doing effective CPR and using a defibrillator.

Anyone can attempt CPR, but the lack of training means that people rarely have the confidence to do so. Only 30% of people who witness a cardiac arrest at home or in a public place will attempt CPR.

Targeting school children with basic life support education gives them lifelong skills that could save lives in the future.
The hands of students in Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside can save lives!
Get involved in the nation's biggest mass CPR training event.

We need staff and volunteers from North West Ambulance Service, St John Ambulance and British Red Cross to deliver CPR awareness sessions to schools.
Passing on lifesaving skills to future generations will help save lives!

Details of signing-up will appear here soon
